my masks and vessels are crafted from white earthenware. They are
hand painted, "patinaed" and rubbed with "luster's"
which gives them their metallic allure.
Masks are, and always have been highly esteemed ornaments. Immensely collectable, these textural, and often mixed-media masks, may be wall-hung or offered as sculpture on pedestals. My vessels combine wheel-thrown techniques with hand-built embellishments. These bodies of work evoke the sensation of finding ancient artifacts or treasures. By virtue of being hand-crafted each piece is assured individuality and signed by the artist.
