Artists Statement

The gesturel sense and immediacy of throwing clay on the wheel... so similar to sketching is what first appealed to me.

Over the years and after having traveled extensively, I became interested in masks.  Used in many ancient cultures their sense of intrigue lured me into crafting my own.  The ones I create are modern and handcrafted,  with a sense of timelessness and antiquity.

I am a former fashion-illustrator.  I have chosen the medium of clay to express myself for the past 25 years.  Educated in New York City I relocated to Woodstock, NY  where I continue to work and reside.
